Sandwich Bay - the exposure end

Sandwich Bay Estate is the premium end of our patch and the hardest fencing environment we work. Prevailing westerly wind off the sea, salt in the air, sand-and-marsh substrate underfoot, and clients who expect the fence to hold up without needing an annual conversation. Everything on the Bay is concrete-post closeboard with 300mm gravel boards as a minimum spec. Panel fencing here is a rebuild waiting to happen.

Typical Sandwich Bay jobs

• Full closeboard perimeter fencing, concrete post + 300mm gravel board, treated softwood or western red cedar face
• Rear-garden privacy runs 1.8-2.0m high (planning consent for above 2m)
• Painted picket frontages where the visual softness is worth the maintenance
• Steel-framed timber-clad driveway gates where security and wind loading combine
